War Horse

A series of illustrations inspired by Michael Morpurgo’s War Horse, capturing the sombre atmosphere and emotion of the First World War.

I first illustrated each scene before developing the artwork through screen printing. Once printed, the pieces were scanned back in and digitally layered with additional screen-printed textures created using mud, soil and other natural materials. The combination of illustration, print and found textures creates a raw, tactile finish that captures the harsh realities and emotional weight of the story.
